Nestled in the hills, overlooking the Bras D'Or lakes is "Gallery Ruairicroft" housing original art work by Berni Thorneycroft. A Cape Breton flavour threads through all her work.  Berni surfaces her canvas with strong, painterly brushstrokes; her interpretation of a scene or occasion which has deeply touched her. Rendering subject matter in acrylics and oils, Berni transforms everyday objects from the mundane, to an elevated awareness which she wishes to share with viewers of her paintings.
