1. Big Spruce Brewery
Big Spruce Brewery is Atlantic Canada’s only organic, on-farm craft brewery and hop yard. With a beautiful south-facing view of the Bras d’Or Lake (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve) from their picnic tables, outdoor bar, or cozy patio, you’ll want to stay all afternoon. So stop in, grab a seat and drink up the view!
2. Lakeside’s Floating Picnic at the Inverary Resort
Enjoy the best of Nova Scotia seafood… with your feet dipped in the Bras d’Or Lakes!
A delicious chilled lobster is served to you atop our floating picnic table off our private docks! Served with lemon aioli, potato salad, coleslaw, sparkling lemonade and Cape Breton oatcakes!
3. Governor’s Pub & Eatery
Governor’s Pub & Eatery, is a superb Cape Breton Island seafood restaurant renowned for its fresh-from-the-ocean seafood, home-cooked meals, and fabulous, friendly service, with two outdoor patios overlooking spectacular Sydney Harbour. If their mouthwatering lobster wasn’t enough for you, you can also be treated with live Celtic music in their Celtic Pub, located upstairs.
4. L’abri café, restaurant and bar
L’abri café, restaurant and bar are located along the Cabot Trail in Chéticamp has become one of the most popular eateries on the Island. We’ve no doubt you’ll enjoy their amazing menu that has something for everyone, the seafood lover, the vegans, and everyone in between.

The three-level restaurant features a full food and drink menu with items for everyone. Route 19 Brewing food menu specializes in East Coast favourites with a unique twist – such as lobster pizza, baby donairs and some of the Island’s best seafood chowder. If their amazing food wasn’t enough, they’re also one of the Island’s three craft beer breweries!
6. The Rusty Anchor Restaurant
Are you ready for some ocean-side dining? The Rusty Anchor Restaurant’s patio sits just metres from the Atlantic Ocean. We’re not sure what’s more memorable, the Atlantic Ocean views or their freshly caught lobster!
7. Glenora Inn & Distillery’s Washback Pub
The Washback Pub is found at Canada’s first single malt whisky distillery. Come and enjoy a whisky tasting and tour the distillery before sitting down for an unforgettable meal in their lush courtyard patio. Be sure to take a bottle of their famous single malt whisky home!
