Their ambassadorship will showcase the rugged coastlines, vibrant trails and unforgettable experiences Cape Breton has to offer, inspiring others to discover this jewel of Atlantic Canada. Q: Tell us more about Explore Canada’s ambassador program.

A: The Creators Network Program by Destination Canada connects creative ambassadors from across the country to advocate for their local areas and promote the #ExploreCanada brand. The goal is to showcase Canada’s openness and share inspiring content from every province & territory. As selected Nova Scotia ambassadors, we can’t wait to connect and support other creators across Canada, as well as highlight the best of our home province on a national level!

Q: What does it mean to you to be an ambassador for our province/Island?

A: Being selected as ambassadors for our province/Island is a huge honour!! At the heart of why we love taking photos and creating visual stories from our travels is to hopefully inspire others about the beauty here in Nova Scotia/Cape Breton Island. To be selected as ambassadors with Destination Canada is truly a remarkable opportunity. Our hearts are full!

Q: What are you hoping the rest of Canada will learn from you through this program?

We are hoping the rest of Canada will learn about how amazing Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island are, sparking the desire to visit here someday too. Our province is such a stunning place to explore with so many unique stories to tell! Hopefully, our content doesn’t just visually inspire but also touches people’s hearts with the love, warmth and charm that is so present here.

Q: What’s your favourite season on Cape Breton Island?

A: Cape Breton Island is a destination that awakens a sense of comfort and inspiration. Here, you’ll find people have a way of making you feel right at home through food, music, culture, and kindness. Our stories are shaped by our connection to the sea and rich cultures of Mi’kmaq, Gaelic and Acadian ancestry. The views will leave you in awe but it’s the warmth from locals that will last with you forever.

We wish we could first-hand share so many experiences with the rest of Canada, but for now, picture this – A sunset on the west coast of the Island, whether you’re on the Skyline Trail, a quiet beach near Mabou, or just taking in the view at one of the many lookoff points in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The sky is alive with sunset colours, and the sound of the waves fills the air. Around you, mountains reach down to touch the sea and mingle with the colourful reflection of the sky on the water. You’re lost in the beauty of it all, but then a whale splashes in the distance or a fishing boat passes by, reminding you that this place is alive in more ways than one. It’s the kind of moment that no photo or story could ever fully capture because it’s not just a view, it’s a feeling that stays with you. And then to make it even better as night settles in, you’re treated to a sky with the most endless display of stars you’ve ever seen. Cape Breton Island is full of moments like this, so raw and breathtaking that they change you. It’s why we’re so proud to call it home, and why we hope others can experience its simple, unspoiled beauty for themselves someday too!
