Snowshoes and poles in Cape Breton County
The following equipment is available at McConnell Library in Sydney:
- Snowshoes (childrens and adult sizes)
- Trekking Poles (for hiking and snowshoeing)
The snowshoes come in a variety of sizes for all members of the family and can be borrowed free of charge for one week.
Equipment is housed at McConnell Library in Sydney but can picked up at any Cape Breton County library branch. Phone McConnell Library at 902-562-3161 for details or place a hold online.
Open Tuesday-Friday: 10:00am-9:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am-5:00pm

Snowshoes and Skis through Victoria County Active Gear Loan
The Victoria County Active Gear Loan Program in partnership with Naturally Active Victoria County, Nova Scotia Communities, Culture and Heritage, and Cape Breton Regional Library offers a variety of recreational equipment to library users for a one week loan period.
The following equipment is available at Baddeck Public Library:
- Snowshoes with poles (childrens to adult sizes)
- Cross-Country Skis, boots, and poles childrens (Age 8 &up) to adult sizes
- Ice Traction Cleats
- Walking Poles

Pick-up on Victoria County Bookmobile or Victoria North Regional Public Library (Ingonish) can also be arranged by phoning the Baddeck Public Library.
