The Whitney Pier Historical Society Museum, located in Sydney on Cape Breton Island, is a community museum honouring the people who came from all over the world to work and live here. Built around the local steel plant, The Pier became home to many immigrants who were seeking a new life. The museum captures the rich, multi-cultural heritage that is still part of our community. Our collection includes photographs, scrapbooks and newspaper clippings, as well as artifacts from daily life, the steel plant and the war years.
The museum has wireless Internet access. Bus tours are welcome.
