Louisbourg Lighthouse Centennial Celebrations

Celebrate the centennial milestone of the Louisbourg Lighthouse with an afternoon of family fun activities, barbeque, live musical performances, and community spirit during a fun-filled celebration on the Louisbourg Waterfront. Watch for the boat parade in the harbour at noon, complete with a cannon salute from 18th-century Louisbourg. There will be live music on the Mainstage running from noon to 3pm featuring performances by Khozie, Nathan Bishop MacDonald, and Eric Angus Whyte.

 

From noon to 3pm there will also be a free Community BBQ and family events including bouncy castle, face painting and games as well as Knot Tying and Navigation Talks by the Coast Guard College, “Letters to the Lighthouse” Time Capsule Booth where you can add your letter to the time capsule and leave a message for future generations, and Learn to Navigate Louisbourg’s Harbour with Parks Canada Outreach Team and their exciting and educational brand-new board game! Dive into the history and challenges of navigating Louisbourg’s harbour, both past and present. Test your skills and see if you can make it out without running aground!
